Beginner 101 Lesson

Our beginner 101 Package commences with a three-hour lesson at the studio. We explain the game from start to finish in a way that is fun and engaging! This three-hour lesson covers a brief history of American Mahjong and each step of the game from the deal to Mahjong. We will then play at least one full game of Mahjong together. Montana Mahj provides trained instructors, everything you need to learn this amazing game (tiles, mats, racks and NMJL cards), and light snacks and NA beverages. Your Mahj 101 Lesson is a package - it includes a two-hour Guided Open Play within a few weeks of your lesson. The Guided Open Play allows you to apply everything you learned in your 101 Lesson in a comfortable environment with other beginners. During the Guided Open Play, our instructors offer a quick introduction and then guide you through the game, answer questions, and assist you with hand selection as requested. This is when you will really fall in love with Mahjong!
