Back to School Mahjong League

Join us for our beginner-friendly mini league! This league is likely your first (and ours too!). It is designed to allow you to dip your toes into competitive-style play in a friendly environment. Each night of play includes four games, with play beginning on September 8 and continuing on September 15 and 22, for 12 games total. Two hours are provided to finish four games, and we will provide additional time if necessary. If your table finishes early, feel free to play informally knowing that only your first four games count toward the leaderboard. Scoring is modified and simplified. We will follow NMJL scoring, except there will be no penalties for discarding a tile that gives your opponent Mahjong in this introductory tournament. That means that you can relax and learn how to increase the value of your hand (self-picked or jokerless Mahjong) without worrying about penalties. Prizes will be awarded to not only the League Champion, but also to the most improved player and for other reasons as well! Lots of prizes and lots of fun!
